Kristen LocyKristen Locy grew up in the heart of shale gas extraction in Washington County, Pennsylvania. She gained her B.A. in Environmental Studies from Allegheny College and became deeply involved in the local food movement. She then came back to Southwestern Pennsylvania to be a community organizer for the Center for Coalfield Justice before joining the investigative news team at Public Herald.

She has a passion for photography, research, and telling stories.
