Manasvi Bantawa is a current sophomore pursuing a degree in International Studies and Film from Allegheny College. She is local in Kathmandu, Nepal, but for now, finds herself calling Meadville, Pennsylvania “home”.
Manasvi aspires to be a storyteller. She believes she has been able to share some stories; however, not enough. She has worked as a Radio Presenter for Nepal’s Radio Kantipur since a teen, wrote and edited for her school paper, worked with Nepal’s Ministry of Education to compose and record nursery rhymes, and published a short story in a comprehensive children’s collection book for rural Nepal.
At present, Manasvi is: working on expanding her knowledge and awareness of the world, learning her fifth language – Mandarin, collaborating with the school body to represent and share her culture and broader South Asia, and learning/creating short films while trying to find her own voice.
Why I want to work with Public Herald:
Ever since a child, I have always gravitated towards the idea and power of storytelling: it shapes history, changes lives, and redefines definitions: I have come to regard it as the very fabric of our civilization. Public Herald exemplifies the true power of telling the truth – it is changing lives, redefining definitions, and will shape history – through the medium we both believe in.
